Job Description:
As Lead Flash Engineer, you will develop high quality, fun, stable and extensible games. You will plan the development schedule and proactively manage risk to the project and communicate effectively with the team. You should have a passion for the games you help make, and a good knowledge of the games made by other companies. Key responsibilities will include: •Leading a growing team of web client developers, including hiring and line management. •Developing highly interactive, social web games •Establishing best practises, processes and standards for Flash development •Applying strong software engineering skills to build games that are high-quality, high-performance, scalable and easy to evolve •Actively participating in the game concept and design process •Using an agile process to iteratively develop fun and engaging games •Monitoring emerging technologies and applicable changes in the gaming and design space. •The day-to-day management of the game programmers on your team, taking part in their review process and help guide their training and development.
Skills Range:
Candidates should ideally have: •Proven experience in Action Script 3, including performance optimisation •BSc Honours in Computer Science or related discipline •4+ years in Flash development or at least 2 successful, released Flash games •Experience in leading a team for at least 2 years •Good communication skills •A strong computer science/software engineering background •Good leadership and collaboration skills •Object oriented programming and design skills •Knowledge of design patterns •Experience in client/server communication using Flash, including security implications •Good attention to detail An advantage would be: •Knowledge of related technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, AMF XML, Java, PHP, Web Services, JavaScript, MySQL etc.) •Experience working with Facebook and/or other social APIs •Experience and knowledge with Flex
Salary:	Negotiable dependent on experience
