Job Description:
As part of its continued growth, NetDev is looking to hire a Java GUI Developer. The role will involve reviewing requirements documents, developing and documenting designs for product GUIs and then implementing them. The successful candidate would work within the existing R&D Team, and alongside the SQA and Systems Integration teams, contributing directly to NetDev's portfolio of telecommunications products. Key Areas of Responsibility R&D * Work with Product Managers to story-board the GUI from User Stories and Use Cases. * Contribute to the the design, implementation and unit testing of NetDev's products in general, but specifically the GUIs. * Adhere to NetDev's documentation standards for every artefact of the production lifecycle. * Participate in design and code reviews. * Review product requirement specifications. * Review test plans. * Follow existing processes for configuration control, build management, continuous integration, etc. Post-installation Support * Assist with validating customer reported issues. * Assist with resolution of validated customer reported issues.
Skills Range:
Skills & Experience Experience * Minimum 5 years JavaScript & GUI programming experience in a commercial environment. * Candidate must have a proven track record of designing and developing highly interactive and robust browser-based GUIs, supporting a large number of simultaneous users, driven by a back-end Web Services/RESTful interface. Essential Skills & Knowledge * Entire software production lifecycle. * J2EE, JBoss Seam, Richfaces, JSP, JSF, AJAX. * JSON, JQuery, PHP, DHTML/CSS. * XML & XSLT. Desirable Skills & Knowledge * Telecoms: IN, SIP/VoIP. * Java-based telecommunications platforms, such as JAIN SLEE. * Database: SQL, Schema design, DB tuning, DB replication. * Persistence frameworks such as Ibatis. * Scalability and clustering solutions. * Agile/iterative software development methodology. * Maven. * GUI test automation tools, e.g. Selenium. * Continuous Integration processes and tools. * Process and other technical documentation, including wireframes, User Stories and Use Cases. Qualifications & Certificates • To be educated to degree level, or with equivalent industry experience.
Salary:	Up to £40K (dependent on experience)
