onHand is a marketplace app that allows people to give and get help, whenever and wherever they are. We’re a start-up that’s enabling “on-demand volunteering”. With over 3000 app downloads and our first 1000+ hours of help now delivered, this is an exciting moment to join us.
Our focus is using the app to match volunteers with older adults who need help with basic tasks. Things like shopping, tech lessons, help around the house or simply sharing a cup of tea and a chat. In doing so, we believe onHand can help address the growing care crisis facing our ageing population and maybe just leave the world a better place too.
You will be at the heart of everything we do to engage and onboard members of our marketplace community. You will help identify the key opportunities for growth and execute plans to test and grow into them. If we are successful, we expect to grow very quickly, expanding across the UK and internationally. The scope for personal and professional growth for any team member joining us at this stage should be tremendous.

It’s likely you have been working in digital marketing / growth hacking for the last 2-5 years and have developed views on the approach to testing and building campaigns for an organisation at our stage.
You’ll be planning, implementing and managing campaigns to drive customer acquisition and retention, focusing on supercharging the growth of older adults and their relatives joining and using onHand. You’ll live for experimenting and implementing new growth strategies to boost customer demand.
Your day to day will be focusing on driving new customer acquisition campaigns through Paid campaigns, namely, PPC (google and social), email marketing, influencer marketing and content marketing. Your data driven mindset, means that you’ll consistently analyse and refine new and existing campaigns to drive revenue, uncover insight and customer trends.
This means that you’ll be a whizz at tracking effectiveness of campaigns via Google Analytics, social network analytics and email creation and distribution platforms.

The role may also attract equity at the appropriate stage. The founder has a 20 year career in tech working for some of the UK’s first unicorns and launching new ventures across the US and Europe. You will work directly with him and the wider team to see all aspects of running a start-up, from customer acquisition, investor engagement and tech build, to setting up the latest digital and productivity tools to ensure we operate as efficiently as possible.
