About the Role

We’re looking for a capable IT Support person. This is a much needed position, so the ideal candidate will need to have experience of setting things up from scratch and creating an efficient, highly supportive working environment for our Futrli team. It’s a fast paced role, involving all the usual aspects of IT Support and a little bit of general office support is expected too (facilities management, attending tenants meetings, ensuring the space is inviting and well stocked of all our essentials). 

As IT Support you will look after the internal system needs of every Futrli employee. They rely on the technical solutions you build and support, which enable them to deliver an efficient and reliable service to our customers.

About You

Our ideal person will have loads of enthusiasm and initiative with great rapport building skills. You’ll need to have a ‘can do’ attitude, superb time management and organisational ability with experience of confidently resolving any manner of technical issues and user requests. 

You’ll already be proficient in managing estates containing Mac machines (Linux and Windows a bonus) and automating the deployment, configuration and in-life changes to these systems.

This role has further career progression opportunities and is ideal for someone who wishes to learn more about devops and cloud computing. 

Your role will include: 

  • Serve as the first point of contact for Company staff seeking technical assistance over the phone or email 

  • Managing stock levels of office essentials, keeping the beer fridge stocked and the stationery sufficient

  • Managing our ever-growing laptop and mobile device estate 

  • Procuring and installing new equipment 

  • Maintaining an asset register so that we know who has what hardware and when it’s due to be refreshed

  • Troubleshooting and fixing faulty hardware and software configurations 

  • Investigating and building new solutions to enhance productivity of our staff 

  • Automating repetitive tasks wherever possible 

  • Managing office access control

  • Dealing with IT support requests through to completion

  • Carry out and manage IT inductions for new employees 

  • Advising staff on the best use of provided technology for their work needs

  • Complete Management of AV & Security Patching for Company Mac Estate

  • Setting up new users and disabling expired accounts in various systems  in accordance with team requirements

  • Setup, Maintain and Support Company Audio & Video Meeting Equipment

  • Refer to internal or external resources to provide accurate tech solutions

  • Document technical knowledge in Company Document Management System

  • Being the main point of contact for any office facilities query

We’re looking for someone who ideally has

  • Hands-on experience of installing and troubleshooting Mac OS X

  • Experience remote managing an estate of Mac laptops using Jamf or similar

  • Excellent knowledge of the google suite tools and applications

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues

  • Experience of configuring and repairing computers 

  • A keen interest in new technologies and a proactive attitude 

  • An understanding of DNS, DHCP and network fundamentals 

  • Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners

  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions

  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of office products 

  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills

  • Customer-oriented attitude

It would be great if you also have: 

  • Knowledge of one or more of: JIRA, OpenVPN, Google Apps 

  • Ability to install and troubleshoot Linux systems

  • Able to script tasks with Bash and/or Python 

  • Proficiency in Git
