Senior Product Designer

MPB is transforming the way that photographers and videographers buy, sell and trade their kit. Since our Series A venture funding in mid 2016, we have expanded rapidly and built a transformative platform for the photography & videography industry, unlocking supply and facilitating unrivalled access to kit for creatives and photography enthusiasts across the globe.

Our platform is now available in the US, UK, Germany and France and we have a global team of over 180 people working on our mission to become the leading company in our industry. We invite you to apply to be part of this mission and join our energetic company, where every employee has the opportunity to make an impact and grow.

We are looking for a talented, experienced Senior Product Designer to join our Product Development team!

Responsibilities

This is a great opportunity to bring industry thinking to the next generation of product design at MPB.

Reporting to our Lead Product Owner and working closely with our UX designer, you will be leading the interaction and visual design strategy and execution of an ambitious customer feature roadmap for execution across our mobile-first website. You will establish scalable processes to more deeply embed design thinking into our product development methodology.

In a collaborative and iterative style, you will be leading from the front whilst building consensus amongst the product team and the wider stakeholder community on how best to meet our customer needs and drive MPB’s business goals.

You will also e sure that a culture of excellence is maintained across our entire end-to-end design process from concept to execution, ensuring ultimately that our engineers have crisp, polished assets to feed into our agile software development process.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to inspire others on the value and possibilities of high quality design, and to put the customer front and centre of everything we do. You will have experience of managing people - directly and influencing without authority.

You will have a solid understanding of design principles and best practises and well-honed experience expressing these through design systems and pattern libraries. You will be an expert user of standard industry software.

Using MPB data, outside research and awareness of the competitive landscape, you will lead your colleagues through an iterative process. You will have experience in conceptualising new user experiences within a product, take a collaborative approach to UX and have exposure to running research and gathering customer feedback. You will have a strong ability to articulate and defend design decisions. You will have an appreciation of and experience with interaction design, the role of content design, design systems and build-measure-learn type approaches.

With your strong communication skills, you will be comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels of seniority and able to hold a coherent vision amongst many conflicting viewpoints, whilst also having the maturity to be comfortable with ambiguity at early stages in the design process and enabling others to do the same.

Your wide industry experience, gained across multiple brands, will bring a fresh perspective to MPB as we enter an exciting period of strategic growth.
