Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our management team in being responsible for the efforts, results, and success of the finance department. You will also be responsible for providing financial advice and support to help senior executives make key decisions.

This is a full-time position for someone who is able to demonstrate experience in leading a finance department, preferably in the digital agency sector. You will report to our non-exec Finance Director and Founder.

Responsibilities

  • As part of the senior management team this role will oversee the finance function, ensuring we achieve our growth plans in line with our strategy
  • Oversight of our HR and internal IT functions
  • Ensuring financial targets are met
  • Overseeing day to day tasks of the finance team, including the maintenance of our Xero accounting package, monthly payroll, VAT returns and cash flow monitoring
  • Oversight of month end management accounts reporting, including income recognition, to include specific agency KPI’s, and reporting thereon at board meetings
  • Cost centre accounting within Xero to enable project profitability reported on a monthly basis
  • Yearly budget preparation with quarterly reforecasting
  • Working with other department heads to monitor budgetary control
  • Experience of dealing with foreign currency both from a VAT and cash treasury perspective
  • Co-ordination of the finance team to ensure all compliance work completed timely post year end
  • Adhoc projects such as yearly R&D tax claims and grant applications
  • Liaison with our company accountants as necessary
  • Oversight of EMI Scheme and ensuring all statutory compliance is adhered to, through liaison with company lawyers and accountants
  • Regular engagement with company bankers and lawyers as required
  • Autonomy to implement systems improvements
  • Continual assessment of suppliers and sourcing alternatives as needed
  • Ensuring adequate business insurances in place and constantly reviewed
  • Maintaining fit for purpose terms and conditions for our contracts with customers and suppliers
  • Adhoc requests of a finance nature from the CEO and non-exec Finance Director
  • Keeping employees motivated and organising appropriate training
  • Ensuring the finance function operates within the company's mission statement

  • Experience of dealing with HR issues
  • Working knowledge of Xero is preferred, plus add ons advantageous
  • Good numeracy skills
  • A high standard of computer literacy
  • Previous financial experience in the digital agency sector
  • A good knowledge of WordPress would be a bonus
  • Enjoys problem solving
