House of Disaster wholesales lifestyle products and accessories. We design and manufacture our own branded collections as well as work with licensed product for The Beatles and Moomin characters. We supply to a range of independent boutiques and gifting stores as well selected high Street stores in the UK and overseas. We are currently supplying ASOS, House of Fraser, Selfridges, Gallerie Lafayette to name a few.

Job Description:

The role of the Giftware and Accessories Designer includes designing ranges of bags and other accessories and gift items for House of Disaster: https://www.instagram.com/houseofdisaster/

We are looking for someone with bags of energy and who is fashion aware. We will train you to have a broad spectrum of skills involved with the design, development and production of a wide range of giftware and accessories.

Responsibilities:
• Design research.
• Product ideas and design development.
• Seeing designs through to production via communication with licensors & international suppliers.
• Graphic Design, for print, screen and packaging.
• Exhibition stands, assist with creation of displays and props.
• Able to work to specific design briefs and tight deadlines.

 
Skills Range:

If you are an illustrator who is excited about trends and fashion, this could be the job for you! You may not be specifically from a fashion/gifts background – you may be designing cards/gift wrap or other products or graphics which are trend related. If you are bright, organized, eager and can create beautiful images, we can train you in-house for this role!

 
Person Specification:

As well as being creative, candidates are required to have strong communication skills, be organised, flexible and must be confident using Photoshop, Illustrator and Outlook. Very strong illustration skills are essential. The chosen candidate is likely to have a degree in a creative/arts related subject and will also have had some professional experience in a design role.

Getting to Work:
We are not easily located using public transport. We run company car pools from both Eastbourne and Brighton and so if you do not have your own transport it may be possible for you to travel to work in the car pool. Please note that there is a nominal daily charge for lifts to work from the company car pool.
