Job Description:

Magento Website Administrator

The role is to take ownership of the e commerce function of the business. It is a hands on

and varied role which requires a true self-motivator and can-do attitude.

This is an exciting opportunity to grow and develop multi E-Commerce skills in a

commercial environment with a creative homeware brand.


Skills Range:


To manage all aspects of the e commerce site including product upload, categorisation and

day to day usability of the site. To drive the e commerce strategy together with the

Marketing and Merchandising team in order to increase awareness, engagement and




 Prepare all new products to go live on the website and schedule a weekly product import

and exclusive VIP product previews.

 Write all product copy ensuring that it is informative, creative and is written within the RSG

tone. Use keywords within product copy for SEO purposes.

 Use the visual merchandiser tool to categorise and arrange products according to sales

figures, marketing campaigns and style.

 Ensure all products have sufficient and relevant ‘Up Sells’.

 Use google analytics to monitor traffic and customer behaviour on the RSG website.

 Manage content change requests from all departments – prioritise and act accordingly.

 Ensure products are live and correct on the site as they arrive in the warehouse – especially

if they have been out of stock for a long time.

 Regularly liaise with our website developers regarding changes and improvements, use the

development site to test all new features before going live.

 Work with the Merchandiser to ensure any discontinued products are removed from the


 Update cost and RRP as per supplier pricelist updates.

 Carry out regular website testing to ensure that all aspects are functioning correctly.

 Competitor analysis.

 Create sale departments, discount products and maintain as necessary.

Brightpearl – Sales Management System

 Create new products and the corresponding purchase orders as they are purchased. Follow

product upload guidelines to ensure that all elements of adding a product are fulfilled

including SKU creation and categorisation.

 Maintain the products in the inventory management system (Brightpearl) – liaise with

merchandiser to ensure any discontinued products are marked as such.

 Ensure Brightpearl and Magento are working together correctly – liaise with Brightpearl

support team as necessary.

 Work with photography assistant to ensure that products are marked as photographed on


 Ensure Brightpearl is updated as products go live on the website including live date.


 Create new discount codes as needed.

 Create landing pages as necessary for marketing manager and marketing campaigns.

Due to the rural location own transport is essential.
