Are you a Senior Designer looking to make a difference to people’s lives?

Sightsavers has a great opportunity for a Senior Designer to join us as a key member of our online and design team, helping deliver design support to our global organisation.

The successful candidate will have significant experience working in digital and print, including UX design, layout and typography, as well as strong art direction skills, and have a demonstrable passion for communications design.

The Senior Designer will lead on user experience design for the organisation and oversee the creation of a broad range of materials that communicate Sightsavers’ vision and mission to its audiences and the wider public. The Senior Designer will also develop and maintain Sightsavers’ visual identity and be a key voice in building a sophisticated brand experience for the organisation, advising on implementation of the visual aspects of the Sightsavers’ brand.

The ideal candidate will already be working as a senior designer and have experience working in-house or with clients in the not-for-profit sector.

Motion graphics skills and experience with user testing would be an advantage. Fluency in French, Italian, Swedish or Norwegian would be welcome, but is not essential.

 
Skills Range:

• Significant experience working in cross-platform design (both digital and print).

• Advanced skills using design and digital software (Adobe Creative Studio, Content Management Systems, prototyping tools, etc) and knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CSS best practice.

• Familiarity with digital project management methodologies (e.g., Agile)

• Strong concept development and art direction skills

• Strong design, communications, layout and typography skills.

• High levels of attention to detail, resilience and flexibility.

• Comfortable working to deadline on multiple tasks, with a thorough understanding of editorial, design and production processes.

• A passion for design in communications.

• Relevant design degree or equivalent work experience.

• An understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunity for disabled people.
