CINECITY 2004 The Brighton Film Festival is back for its second year and has now doubled in size following the success of 2003.
From Friday 19th November to Sunday 5th December CINECITY brings to Brighton the best of cinema and new digital work from around the world.
The final programme is still being compiled and will be available from mid-October but highlights include:
Premieres of new features and documentaries
Musician and author Nick Cave has guest curated a special programme exploring Berlin on film. Includes two live scores to silent classics and screenings of seminal works such as WINGS OF DESIRE
QUADROPHENIA
Members of the cast and crew will attend a special 25th anniversary screening of cult Brighton movie, Duke of York's on Sunday 21 November
THE THIRD MAN
Tracing The Tracks of a Movie Classic - a visiting exhibition from Vienna at The Fringe Basement, Kensington Street, Friday 26 November until Sunday Dec 12
CINECITY's digital programme will include:
- for the first time in Brighton and the region - the installation of a 2k high definition digital projector for the duration of the festival
- new digital work from Europe and Japan
- a range of new digital shorts and new digital restorations of classic films
- the latest global digital sensations in association with the onedotzero digital moving image festival
OSKA BRIGHT FILM FESTIVAL
A one-day learning disability film festival (Monday 29 November, Old Market Hove) presented by Carousel and Junk TV with support from Mencap and Arts Council England.
AUDIBLE PICTURE SHOW
Short audio pieces for a darkened cinema - a unique and entertaining experience - Cinema for the Ears! Duke of York's Sunday 28 November.
PLUS film-maker events, free schools screenings and much more.

Screenings take place at all the city's cinemas - the Duke of York's, UGC, Odeon, Gardner Arts Centre and Lighthouse Media Centre. Screenings and special events also take place at a range of other venues throughout the city including The Dome, Hove Museum and Art Gallery, Old Market Hove and Joogleberry Playhouse.
