PRESS RELEASE‘WE’VE GOT THE TOASTER’ SELLS TO ISRAEL
Hastings production company Toaster Productions are extremely excited to announce the sale of their film ‘We’ve got the Toaster’ to Israel & the West Bank. The film will be shown with subtitles in the Hebrew and Russian languages.
‘We’ve got the Toaster’ a new coming-of-age comedy by Mike Laloë, has enjoyed an independent theatrical release since its Premiere in September 2006 to a rapturous audience of 600. After hugely successful screenings in locations including London, Oxford and Brighton, the film is now available on DVD from www.wevegotthetoaster.com and from independent retailers in Tunbridge Wells.
The film has received the following praise:
“Very funny indeed”
BBC South East
"A deeply amusing and highly accurate portrayal of the teenage psyche"
Henry Thomas, former CEO Universal Pictures, London. ??
"Packed with wit and canny observation of character. Laloë is something of a modern-day Hogarth, revealing our everyday absurdities in a hilarious but also intelligent way."
Steve Gough, Award winning Writer/Director of 'Elenya' and 'Heartland' staring Anthony Hopkins.
‘We’ve got the Toaster’ is a groundbreaking film taking full advantage of new digital models of film distribution that allow new independent film-makers to get their stories to an audience.
A Guerilla Film
Mike Laloë (Director) – We wanted to make a film that explored the familiar teen movie party plot but in a fresh and unconventional way. So we used real teenagers as both cast and crew, and shot on DV in a concentrated two-week period. It created a really intense atmosphere that we think transferred to the screen.
Digital Distribution
Janey Moffatt (Producer) – We are absolutely thrilled that we have managed to sell to our first territory! This is very encouraging for independent film makers because it shows that it really is possible to sell your product.
The film, which features fresh local talent from the Kent & Sussex area, is the first project by Toaster Productions, a new independent film company based in the South East.

Toaster Productions are working on further feature film projects and are seeking investment.
