World AIDS Day is coming on 1st December (It’s the one day a year when HIV and AIDS is really on the agenda) CAN YOU HELP US?
You and your colleagues can help by supporting HIV/AIDS charity AVERT in the run up to World AIDS Day - 1 hour can really make a difference.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: WE'RE NOT ASKING FOR DONATIONS, JUST FOR AN HOUR OR TWO OF YOUR TIME TO GET OUT THERE AND HELP US SPREAD AWARENESS, HAND OUT RED RIBBONS AND HOPEFULLY HAVE A LOT OF FUN IN THE PROCESS!
We are holding street collections in the Horsham and Brighton and Hove areas, and in Gatwick Airport and Three Bridges train stations, in the week up to and including World AIDS Day (28th November - 1st December). We have various dates and times available; email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
for more details. Of course the time that is given is completely up to you, you can pop down with some colleagues for an hour or two, or just within your lunch break, any time at all that can be spared would be extremely useful!
Full support and resources are available to ensure that you and your colleagues get the most out of the time you're able to give - we'll provide a full briefing to all helpers, you can dress up in red, hand out red ribbons and speak to people about the issues - all money raised will go to support the work we do to educate people about HIV and AIDS, to keep HIV and AIDS in the limelight and ensure that we can prevent further infection as much as possible.

P.S. HIV and AIDS is far from a problem of the past.
Across the world, the latest figures show that 2.7 million people were newly infected with HIV and 1.8 million men, women and children died from AIDS-related causes. 34 million people are now living with HIV.
AVERT exists to do something about this.
AVERT is a Sussex-based HIV/AIDS charity. We work to avert HIV and AIDS, through education, treatment and care:
• Our website www.avert.org is the most used HIV and AIDS site in the world, providing education on all aspects of HIV and AIDS - over 2.5 million people visit the site each month!
• Our information service replies to hundreds of enquiries on HIV, AIDS and sexual health
• We support projects in areas of real need - helping hundreds of orphans and vulnerable children in need of care
