Project Description: Our Brighton-based team is growing, and we need a skilled software/firmware engineer for a 6-month project to develop low-power implementation of real-time data acquisition and processing from multiple wireless sensors, with opportunities for an extended following contract.

Your Role:

You'll be designing and developing software and firmware to acquire, process and integrate information from multiple on-bike sensors, including load cells, anemometers , gyros and inclinometers. The various streams of information must then be processed together in order to extract and refine the desired measurements, i.e. using data from some channels to correct for and improve data from other channels.

Your role will include selection of appropriate sensors, support in the design and prototype of the required electronics, selection and implementation of the correct algorithms, customization of these algorithms to fit our specific application, testing and validating the prototype system.

You Are:

- Self-motivated
- Enjoy pushing the boundaries of design in your field
- Reliable and flexible with good interpersonal skills, and the ability to integrate and work effectively within a close-knit team
- Good written English and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, project partners and customers

- Significant, meaningful experience in embedded software
- Work with industrial sensors (or comparable experience)
- Prior experience working with real-world sensor data
- Proficient in C (GCC, ARM, etc.)
- An understanding of data filtering, and how to apply it
- Strong maths skills
- Project management, and familiarity with project management tools
- The right to live and work in the UK

Ideally, You Also Have:

- Knowledge of sensor fusion and other spatial positioning techniques
- Python and/or C#
- Electronics/Hardware design
- A love for cycling, triathlon, and skiing
- Ability to travel
