BRIGHTON FUSE

  What is it? Brighton Fuse is a research and development project which mapped, measured and assisted Brighton’s creative, digital and IT (CDIT) cluster. It started with the belief that by connecting the arts, humanities and design with digital and ICT, then creativity and innovation could be enhanced. FUSEBOX

              What is it? The FuseBox is a studio and collaboration space which we primarily created to host and provide assistance to start-ups from the creative, digital and tech sector. As well as being home to Wired Sussex and our business support programmes, the space has also been used by the community as a venue for a range of events from workshops to hackathons.   What value does it offer to the cluster? FUSEBOX24

What is it? FuseBox24 is a 24-week radical programme of start-up business support which provides 24/7 access to the facilities at The FuseBox; access to knowledge networks of thought leaders and practitioners from the worlds of art, technology and business; as well as personal and professional support and development. A number of the core concepts from the Brighton Fuse research around ‘superfused’ businesses are applied to the methodology of business support.   What value does it offer to the cluster? DIGITAL CATAPULT CENTRE BRIGHTON

What is it? The Digital Catapult Centre Brighton is collaborative R&D lab which will run a series of projects which focus specifically on encouraging the creation of innovation and value from real-time and location-based data, known as the Internet of Place. The centre will be tasked with delivering on a range of innovative projects, designed to be accessible to start-ups and SMEs to use and learn from.   What value does it offer to the cluster? BRIGHTON DIGITAL EXCHANGE

  What is it? The Brighton Digital Exchange (BDX) is a group of digital businesses working together in innovative ways to improve the digital infrastructure available to the Brighton business community. The Brighton Digital Exchange is a unique collaboration between Wired Sussex and technology businesses offering services to the Brighton business community.   What value does it offer to the cluster? BRIGHTON DIGITAL FESTIVAL

What is it? Brighton Digital Festival (BDF) is a month long celebration of digital culture which takes place throughout September. The festival provides an ideal platform for a community led programme with an eclectic mix of individuals and organisations from the cultural and digital sectors getting involved and putting on outstanding events Wired Sussex help to coordinate the festival, supported by a consortium of key players from the creative and digital who are based the city. INTERN PLACEMENT PROGRAMME

  What is it? The Intern Placement Programme (IPP) sourced and placed interns in creative, digital, media and tech roles for 6 week grant-supported placements. This project was run in response to an identified need in the sector for SMEs to receive support in recruiting new junior talent.   What value does it offer to the cluster? Through this scheme we offered consultancy HR support, a bespoke application filtering system, access to large pool of talent as well as a contribution to the intern salary during the placement. RECREATE

  What is it? ReCreate brings together a number of partners from across the South East of England and Northern France with the aim of stimulating the creative industries to support economic growth.   What value does it offer to the cluster?
