Building a Creative Digital Hub in Bognor Regis

Last Tuesday evening we held another of our ‘community check-in’ events in Bognor Regis. We’re working with West Sussex County Council and Hemingway Design to launch a creative hub in the old waiting rooms at Bognor Regis station and this event was an opportunity to share our progress so far with the local creative community. There was a good turn out for what proved to be a fun night of hearing people’s views and exchanging ideas. Guest Blog Jenni Lloyd: Developing a digital hub in Bognor Regis.

As I write this I’m bumbling back along the south coast from Eastleigh. I’ve been to look at two spaces there that have been created to support the digital and creative industries in the town – Tec Hub and The Sorting Office. Hubs are all the rage at the moment, with councils across the country seeking ways to support the creation of jobs in a growing sector – the kind of jobs that will attract and retain young people. >Thanks to everyone who attended the first Women in Media breakfast of the year, yesterday morning at a rather packed Sanctuary cafe. Jenni Lloyd from Nixon McInnes gave a great interactive presentation on ‘Building your network’ which made for a lively question and answer and networking session. Jenni highlighted useful online tools that make networking easier and demonstrated the different audiences that use them and for what reasons.
