Talent2018: Creating a Skills Manifesto For Our Digital Sector

In June 2018, Wired Sussex organised Talent2018, a three-day skills festival for the digital sector designed to support our digital, media and tech industries. Salary and Salary Alone?

At the recent Manchester Digital’s skills festival, I attended a workshop about the city’s digital salaries and rewards. What stood out from the discussion was the belief amongst Manchester’s digital employers that they have to routinely offer far greater salaries to remain attractive. From the festivals skills audit 47% of the surveyed Manchester digital businesses have had to inflate salaries to remain competitive. The majority of these salary increases were for developers and digital marketers who consistently receive above average pay rises. This means nearly half of Manchester’s digital business are paying way over the top salaries just to be …

Talent2017 Jobs Fair Videos: Helping You Progress With Your Career In The Digital Sector

Talent2017 was a 3-day skills festival for the digital sector. On the first day of the festival we ran the region’s largest digital careers fair which brought together key elements to provide attendees with advice and contact to start – or progress with – an exciting, challenging and rewarding career.
