Did you 'Make it into Media'?

With the adrenalin of Thursday's event finally ebbing away, we've now had a chance to reflect on what was a great day.

Make it into Media saw over 500 media hopefuls take full advantage of the skills, training experience and knowledge on hand, and gain insight into this competitive field. The day started with talks on The Sussex Internship Programme and the opportunities available through the University of Sussex' Careers and Employability Centre, as well as an award presentation. Phil Jones and Judith Good of the University of Sussex were pleased to present Tim Vincent with his award for best Student on the Postgraduate Certificate in e-Learning design.

The panel sessions were really well attended with talks on the best routes into Mobile Development, Video Production, PR, Web Development, TV, Journalism, SEO, Games, e-Learning and Animation. What was great to see was the amount of questions fired at the panellists, those in attendance were really keen to drill down on the skills needed to break into their chosen field. Some of the panellists were kept busy for an hour after their presentation. There was no let up for the advisers and experts from the academic institutions, training companies and agencies who were kept busy all day fielding questions and providing advice.

Make it into Media was a collaboration with the University of Sussex and we would like to thank all of our partners
who helped make the event such a success and a very special thanks to everyone who helped on the day. We even got our photo taken with the Mayor, which will make my mum very proud!

I would love to hear your feed back, what worked well for you? What can we do differently next time? With your help we can make the next event even better.
