May has continued the strong showing we had in April on our jobs board, peaking at 89 jobs towards the end of last week. I think it can be used as a yardstick for the confidence that is being felt across the industry as a whole in Sussex. In particular we have seem a deluge of senior positions being posted across all industry sectors, even the change in government hasn’t seemed to dent this confidence.
May saw 66 new jobs posted, an increase of 106% over the same month last year, and one more job than 2008. Looking back through the previous years, this is the strongest May we have had since records began (Useless fact: May was also the wettest month in the South East since 1967)
The location split for roles posted in May was:
East Sussex: 64%
West Sussex: 36%
Brighton & Hove: 67%
Outside Brighton: 33%
