Try out coworking at The Skiff in Brighton with our Olympic offer

The Skiff coworking space has been open in Brighton’s North Laine since 2008, providing a workspace for freelancers, independent workers and those looking to spend some time away from the home or office.

Here people have the opportunity to not only work in a supportive environment, but also to meet and potentially collaborate with others, and many great projects have come out of new relationships formed here.

The Skiff

At the beginning of 2012 we doubled in size, knocking through to join with some recently vacated offices, giving us an additional meeting room, a larger communal lounge and kitchen area, and plenty of desks for new full- and part-time desk members. As well as providing desk space, we have several meeting rooms which are used for short meetings and longer term hire for teams working together on projects.

Over the Olympics we’re encouraging more people to try out coworking for themselves. For those commuters who are hoping to avoid the chaos of London during the Games, they can try out working at The Skiff over the summer with £20 off their first month when using the code WIREDSUSSEX2012 during sign up at http://theskiff.org/desks. And it’s not just for freelancers; we have plenty of employees of larger companies, who recognise that working with others and getting out of the house can be of benefit to both staff and employers alike.

The skiff passed 100 active members earlier this year, and have welcomed hundreds more for meetings, evening and weekend events, and we still have space for people who want to get involved the community in some way.

During the evenings we have a wide range of events taking place at The Skiff. Technical groups such as dotBrighton and Async, as well as writing groups and even food groups use our space in the evenings. We also regularly host weekend events such as hack days and BarCamp Brighton, and during Brighton Digital Festival in September there will be a host of activities taking place.
