Thursday and Friday last week saw the return of the annual New England House Xmas Open Studios and, as there were so many exhibitors this year, Wired Sussex kindly offered up part of their office to a couple us.
Pearl Primrose and myself (aka My Little Robot) had the pleasure of setting up in the warm office and enticing people in with minced pies (courtesy of Wired Sussex's Caroline) and woolly beards. Yes, that's right, woolly beards! PP's amazing crochet beards were a hit with the boys and girls alike and one lucky gentleman got away with the last deal of the day with an added red tash.
The robots were on good form and many of last year's punters were enjoying their new look. I'm happy - and maybe a little bit sad - to say that one of my favourite bots, The Butcher, sold to a very nice man with an epic (real) beard. Also, a lovely couple, engaged to be married, placed an order for The Lovers! So exciting!
All in all, it was a very Christmassy affair! Thanks again to Wired Sussex and to Rowena Gilbert for all her logistical genius in co-ordinating the event. And, of course, to all the other New England House creatives who really make this one of the best buildings to work in.
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!
