Many of you use our Jobs Board and already know about some of the main benefits of doing so (your job is delivered in a number of ways to the right audience in the local community and beyond), but I bet there’s a lot of you who aren’t using our CV database, the Recruiting Tips, or know about what I do in the background to support recruitment and nurture skills on behalf of our members.
For example have you ever thought of us as a gateway to engage with local universities? I work really closely with them to provide information to students about the sector, consult with departments on skills shortages, and am developing new ways to assimilate graduate level jobs both locally and nationally so that your vacancies get seen by the talented graduates we need for the sector to grow.
I attend events (from skills fairs to sector specific conferences) to raise the profile of your vacancies and also widen the talent pool attracted to the local area, as well as help guide those starting out in the sector. I also co-run the HR Digital Media Group that Wired Sussex and Martin Searle employment law solicitors organise for our members. We meet regularly to provide support and free advice and give the opportunity for business owners, HR managers, directors and employees responsible for personnel issues who work in the digital media sector. Our next event is on the topic of ‘mental health in the workplace’ on Tuesday 14th May, so let me know if you’d like to join us.
Being a Wired Sussex member instantly gives you access to many benefits, but don't forget that it also means you can ask me for help with your recruitment matters. Our recruitment offering does not just end with the Jobs Board, I often help our members with advice on the following:
- getting the most out of your job descriptions
- providing additional exposure through social media etc where needed
- key advice on the sector
Free consulting for May job posters…
This month I’m going one step further to offer all Wired Sussex members who post a job in May to book me for up to an hour of my time to help with your recruitment challenges and strategies. I’m happy to visit any of our Brighton and Hove members and can set up phone or conference calls for those further away. Just simply post your job to our board and drop me a line asking for my assistance to set up a mutually agreeable time and date.
I’m here for you peeps, so get the most out of your membership and use me!
