Developing digital and data opportunities for the retail sector

Wired Sussex has been invited by Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership to help coordinate a bid to the Connected Digital Economy Catapult (part of the Technology Strategy Board).

We are looking at digital, data and the retail space. The idea is that we develop a coordinated series of activities which bring together higher education, large businesses and small companies to develop  new ways that digital and data can both support a vibrant retail sector and new opportunities for the digital, media and tech cluster.

Here are some areas that we may want to consider:

-  5g connectivity and its impact on the public retail space (new tools, products and services)

-  Data collection / management in the physical realm (public and hybrid)

-  Issues and challenges around data as an opportunity for consumer empowerment and business ownership and use of data

-  Integrating fragmented data sets

-  Independent retailers and scalable digital models

  • If your company is interested in being involved in this project in any way (including helping us frame the bid), please drop phil@wiredsussex.com a brief email and I’ll be in touch.
