At Wired Sussex we often hear from members who’re struggling to find decent office or shared working space in Brighton; whether they are companies looking to expand or freelancers keen to get out of the house (or coffee shop!) and work alongside others in a shared space.
We recognise there’s a real shortage of these spaces around the city and it can be hard to know exactly where to look to find them. So, I thought I’d take a moment to give you a quick run through of some the ways we’ve been working to help address this problem.
Workspace Board – This is a free service we offer to all our members, allowing you to advertise any spare space you have; whether it’s a whole office or a spare desk you’d like to let to a fellow creative.
We also help promote local workspaces such as: Chapel Studios, Brighton Media Centre, Office Crèche with relevant banner adverts on our website. If you’d like to find out more about advertising with us just drop me an email.
And if you’re looking for a space yourself then make sure you check it out, the rolling feed averages around 20 new listings a month- in all shapes and sizes. Sign-up for email notifications to hear when new places are added.
Co-working spaces - There are a number of amazing co-working spaces situated in and around the Brighton area. We co-manage one such space - The Skiff - and we resource and support the space as we recognise it’s such an important asset for the local CDIT sector.
The Skiff offers a wide range of desk plans and meeting space for freelancers and, perhaps even more importantly, a sense of community. Skiffmates regularly collaborate on projects, share knowledge and even hold event and games nights together.
Alongside The Skiff, there are a number of other great co-working spaces that we help our members to advertise through our directory, including: The Werks and Jessie Ford’s studio in Brighton, The Dock Hub in Hove and slightly further afield Cohub in Eastbourne.
Anyway, hope this helps with the search and if you’ve got any questions feel free to get in touch with me kieron@wiredsussex.com.
