Believe it or not it’s just two weeks to go until our annual Members’ Christmas Meetup! We’re really looking forward to seeing lots of friendly faces and catching up with our members – oh and a mulled wine too.
Coming to a Members’ Meetup is one of the best ways to make the most out of your membership. Not only do we get a chance to meet you and chat to you about what you and your business are up to; you’ll also get to meet or catch up with other members, opening up opportunities for knowledge sharing, collaborations and potential project work.
So whilst it might seem like it’s a bit early to talk festivities, if you haven’t already signed up to come along, here are 10 reasons why you should come to this year’s Members’ Christmas meetup on Tuesday 1 December.
- These informal networking events see on average over 150 people in attendance – that’s a lot of potential new contacts!
- There’ll be mince pies, mulled drinks and an impressive display of Christmas jumpers (yes, that’s right, get those jumpers out please, it’s kind of a big deal for me and basically mandatory for attendance), so come and get in the spirit of the season!
- Meeting other members and learning about their business or the business the work for is a really great way to keep up to date with the latest industry goss and share expertise with peers.
- Chatting to the Wired Sussex team about you/your company means that we can help shout about your news.
- Ask the team for advice on supporting your business, whether that be other ways to make the most out of your membership; how to source that new recruit; engaging with the local CDIT community through events; potential funding opportunities or raising the profile in the sector locally.
- Talk to us about the Digital Catapult Centre Brighton to find out what the project means for you, your business and for Brighton and the Coast 2 Capital region, and how it might be able to help you.
- Find out about and explore potential collaboration and joint working opportunities with peers.
- Update your company picture in our festive photo shoot area! (Check out the pics from last year here, it always goes down a treat!)
- The 1st December means it’s officially acceptable to listen to some festive tunes, so let’s see the season in in the only style appropriate! Here’s one of my faves to get you in the mood in the meantime...
- Lastly, I’m off travelling for a few months from January – April and after almost four years here at Wired Sussex, it would be really lovely to catch up with those that I've had the pleasure of meeting and working with over this time, as well as to meet newbie members for a beer and some festive cheer!
Really hope to catch up with you there. Please do spread the word and extend the invitation to (WS Member) friends, peers and colleagues – the more the merrier! If you do know anyone that would like to join, please just ask them to sign up here to secure a place.
New to the networking scene, or perhaps a little rusty? Not to worry, check out my blog post on networking best practice and approaches to help you make the most out of the event.
Do have a look through the attendee list in advance of the event, it’s really helpful to identify anyone you’d like to speak to in advance so that you can give us a heads up and we can help to facilitate an introduction.
And remember to tweet us @WiredSussex using #WiredBrighton to let us know you’re coming!
