Here's the latest in our 'Love Your Job' blog series; where we ask employees at recruiting member companies about the jobs they love and how they got started in their career - sharing insights to help inspire you.
Next up we have Adriana Scala from Neptik - a Brighton based web design and digital marketing agency.
Adriana Scala - Digital Marketing Analyst
Tell us a bit about your job and responsibilities?
I manage the digital marketing team at Neptik. We work on developing our own online presence and managing campaigns for our clients. It’s varied, exciting and really rewarding in terms of exceeding targets and client expectations.
What might you be doing on an average day?
On an average day, my roles include a range of social media curation and management for Neptik and our clients, liaising with bloggers and influencers, blogging and writing, SEO maintenance and analytical reporting.
Which projects have you worked on that you are most proud of and why?
We recently kicked off with blogger outreach campaigns for a couple of digital marketing clients which is proving to be hugely successful! We’ve managed to hit all social media and organic search targets and raise the awareness and engagement we were aiming for. We’re also in the process of finishing up a huge web design and development project for a luxury travel agency (which we can’t tell you about yet!) which is looking really great and has truly been a team effort – we’re pretty proud of this.
What are your three favourite things about your job?
- People I work with
- Creative space
- Varied aspects of my role
What is it exactly about the company itself that you enjoy?
Working with Neptik has opened my eyes to a lot of other creative and exciting marketing strategies. I’m also able to develop my existing skills and explore others in a role that lets me get stuck in to all projects and contribute creative input.
How did you get to where you are now?
I worked in a few very different creative roles while I was studying: with Spotify, in a PR agency and writing and managing social media for an animation company, however was always interested in digital marketing, advertising and writing. So when I was graduating in Media and Communications at Sussex and spotted Neptik in the Argus, I immediately got on the phone. I did a few weeks’ trail and started the week after.
What advice would you give to younger self about your career path?
I’d tell myself to not be afraid to ask questions, seek advice and learn from other people around you. When I was younger I was much more stubborn, and easily embarrassed when it came to asking others about things I was genuinely interested in, I now know that being curious can open so many doors.
A big thank you to Adriana and Neptik for some great advice and inspiration – interested in finding out more about working there then check out their latest job advert on our site here.
