Have You Considered Hiring an Apprentice?

Brighton and Hove’s digital and creative economy is now worth more than £1 billion to the city each year and the driving force behind our city’s economy.

This is obviously great news for the sector, but it does pose the challenge of finding enough talented people to support this growth. We need a large, highly skilled workforce and a pipeline of talent coming from schools, colleges, universities with industry standard, work ready digital skills.

One solution to help bridge this gap could be to better utilise digital apprenticeship programmes.

So, have you ever considered hiring an apprentice?

We caught up with one of our members Jack Hiett, MD of Creative Process Digital, a local apprenticeship provider to chat about the benefits of employing an apprentice and hear why he believes they’re right for the digital sector.

Also, joining was Emily Jones, Wired Sussex’s own Digital Marketing Coordinator, who we had originally employed through this scheme; to hear her first-hand perspective on the benefits.

If you'd like to find out more about taking on an apprentice of your own, we will be running an event with Creative Process at the end of the month to specifically look at their Software Developer Talent Programme.

So if you think your business could benefit from some talented junior developers and would like to hear from other Wired Sussex member companies already involved in the programme, or ask us some questions, come along to our briefing event on the 28th November.
