Hi I’m Rifa and I’m delighted to be the new Festival Producer for Talent2018. I’m doing all the planning and organising for this three day festival: the Jobs Fair, the Skills Summit and the Portfolio Clinic. I’m your main point of contact. Talent2018 is the highlight of the Wired Sussex calendar so make sure you get involved. See what we did last year.
Day 1 - Jobs Fair – Tuesday 5 June
On Tuesday 5 June, we'll have a fantastic Jobs Fair at Brighton Dome with 40 digital companies ready to share their knowledge about the industry with talented job seekers. Expect VR, film companies, TV production and games studios as well as web design companies, mobile app builders and online learning. I’ll have a full list to share with you soon. In the meantime, get your free ticket now. Bring your friends.
If you’re a job seeker looking for your move into digital, bring copies of your CV or your portfolio to share with the experts in the CV clinic, on hand all day at the Jobs Fair to give you advice to make your work stand out from the crowd.
In the Founders Room at the Dome, you’ll also hear short talks from industry insiders about the different roles and functions available in the digital industry and the Foyer bar is open all afternoon for informal connecting. The friendly Wired Sussex team are around to help and guide you.
If you’re a digital, creative or tech company and a member of Wired Sussex, get in touch to book your stand at the Jobs Fair - there are only 30 available and we're expecting over 1,500 people to attend. Make sure you’ve got plenty of fun stuff to give away to attract the best talent to your stand.
Day 2 – Skills Summit – Wednesday 6 June
On Wednesday 6 June, we’re organising the Talent2018 Skills Summit: a meeting of minds to discuss how to make Brighton better for talent. If you’re interested in discussing the challenges of attracting, training and retaining talent with like-minded peers, I’m inviting CEOs and Resource Managers to take part in a lively conversation and structured workshops. Our Skills and Talent Manager James Brooklyn will guide the process and there’ll be short talks from the experts. Look out for your invitation soon, or get in touch to make sure you’re on the guest list as places are limited.
Day 3 – Portfolio Clinic – Thursday 7 June
Finally, on Thursday 7 June there’s a Portfolio Clinic. I’ll be doing some matchmaking to bring together local young people and students with digital and design companies at a central Brighton location. If you want to receive advice and help to make your portfolio the best it can be, let me know if you can come along during the day.
June will come around quickly, so don’t miss out - get in touch soon.
I’m also looking for generous sponsors to help make this year’s Talent2018 festival a massive success. It is a highlight of the Wired Sussex calendar and I’d love to tell you more about how you’ll benefit from sponsoring Talent2018.
