Some of Our Favourite Podcasts From Our Digital Community

We don’t know about you, but we love a good podcast. And they were the perfect remedy when lockdown began -  a great way to tune out everything that was going on and take a moment to listen in to our local community when we were all feeling that bit more distant.

So now, with a lot of us approaching holidays and some time to relax, we’d like to showcase a few of our favourite podcasts from our digital community. We hope we inspire you to take a listen.

So, in no particular order, here are a few of our favourites:

Here Right Now with Will McInnes

Here Right Now explores the future that’s already here, with host Will McInnes - Chief Marketing Officer at Brandwatch and author of Culture Shock. Through the eyes of a guest expert, Will explores how a facet of everyday life is changing right now - from interesting new food trends to the rise of esports and the changing design of cities.

In a recent episode, he talks to the respected synthetic artist Eric Drass, who you probably know more as Shardcore, thanks to his work with bots, neural networks and Deep Fake. Together, they take a stab at answering the ever-pressing question - how can we make sense of, or know what is true in the boundless digital world we now occupy?

The Big Bright Podcast

Launching just this April, the brand new podcast from the peeps at Bright is all about helping to make your workday more inspiring and productive. From how to reboard after COVID, to Martech predictions and the future of agile marketing, they run through topics across marketing, design, brand and tech - throwing in helpful, practical tips whenever they can.

Take a listen to their latest episode with Duncan Copeland, Account Director at Fresh Egg, who talks about managing his clients’ digital marketing strategy during COVID. We also loved the episode with Tom Leach, Creative Director and Founder of Evoke on how to create a cracking design brief.

Refigure

On this podcast, hosts Rifa and Chris sift through the shows they’ve binged this week, as well as the books they’ve been reading, sharing their critical perspective on all things art, tech, culture and diversity. Oh, and there’s some annoying seagulls thrown in for good measure.

Their latest episode explores BBC’s Mrs America, which dramatises the American womens’ equal rights movement, as well as Get Shorty from Sky, which stars Chris O'Dowd as a gangster trying to break into Hollywood. Never giving spoilers, they offer some great insight into what you should be watching, and why it matters.

Internet Marketing Podcast from SiteVisibility

SiteVisibility’s Internet Marketing Podcast is one of the world’s most popular marketing podcasts, with over five hundred episodes. They cover all sorts of topics, from generating leads to generation Z, featuring marketing legends such as Seth Godin, Tim Ferriss, Neil Patel and Larry Kim.

In a recent episode, hear from Jason Woodford, their CEO, on the impact COVID-19 has had on their organisation, and more generally within the marketing industry. They hit on how they’ve managed their communication both internally and externally, how the government has helped and the long-term impact the virus might bring.

And, if you’re interested in starting your own podcast, they even have a handy episode all about the common obstacles you might encounter.

The Clearleft Podcast

This podcast veers away from the usual interview format, with each episode taking on a topic and exploring it with a few of Clearleft’s specialists - from industry experts to design leaders. Together, they cover all aspects of the design process, from interaction design to content design, design sprints, design systems, research and development.

We loved listening to a recent episode in which they explore their ground-breaking work with the Natural History Museum. Together with the legendary Sir David Attenborough (can you believe it?!) they discuss how they launched a museum-quality digital experience showcasing the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.

We’re always on the lookout for something new to listen to, have you launched a podcast or have we missed your favourite? Let us know!
