About the brief

Our learning hub is seeking a designer with excellent InDesign skills to produce French and Portuguese translations (see linked examples of publications below) working within existing InDesign templates and using content provided by a translator.

Excellent attention to detail is essential, as is experience in working in French and Portuguese. Knowledge of the typesetting and punctuation rules for French and Portuguese also required. Files will be supplied in Word, so compatibility is essential. For each assignment the designer will deliver to the client the full InDesign package including InDesign file, links and PDF.

The following two example publications are translated and ready for production:

Portuguese version of https://sanitationlearninghub.org/resource/wash-and-older-people/

French version of https://sanitationlearninghub.org/resource/gender-equality-and-social-inclusion-self-assessment-tool/

Further publications will be translated over the summer.

Payment will be made on receipt of invoice per assignment. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, and there will be multiple pieces of work. The number of hours will be variable for each publication, depending on the number of words, and we expect quotes per assignment. We imagine the work would be up to about 7 hours for each assignment.

To apply, please send your CV detailing relevant experience and hourly rates, and a short paragraph outlining your suitability to SLH@ids.ac.uk. The deadline for applications is 12:00 Monday 1st August.

Budget:
Variable depending on quote for each publication
