Who we are

Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (MET) are the leading college for our City and deliver education across five campuses in the region, drawing on 150 years of heritage, history and experience.

What we do

We offer a comprehensive range of qualifications and services for 16-19 year olds, adults and employers. Courses are delivered by experienced industry-expert teaching staff who prepare you for the world of work.

If you’re looking to kickstart your career, our wide range of free training courses could help you take that first step into new employment.

Our Opening Doors programmes are free for jobseekers, providing you with dedicated support to develop your skills and knowledge for your next role.

Financial support

If you’re aged 19 or over, you may be eligible to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to meet your upfront qualification costs and essential course equipment fees.

You do not pay the loan back until after your course is complete and you are earning over a certain amount.

We work closely with local employers to deliver industry-focused programmes, with a focus on developing your employability skills.

Are you a freelancer looking to build your own website? Perhaps you’re wanting to develop your creative skills in photography? If you’re looking to up-skill in the digital and media industries, we offer a variety of courses from part-time to degree level qualifications in the creative arts.

There’s also the opportunity to learn while you earn with our wide variety of apprenticeships ranging from digital marketing to project management, business administration to accountancy.

We also deliver bespoke training for employers and apprentice recruitment services.

Who we do it for

We teach around 3,500 16-18 year-olds, 1,000 undergraduates, 7,500 adult learners and 800 apprentices at five campuses across Brighton, Shoreham and Worthing.

More than 1,000 expert staff work with our students to equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to prepare them for the world of work or get ahead in their career.
