The rise of free and open source software means small to medium enterprises can use best in class software solutions at very low cost. These solutions include customer relationship management, website content management, telephony, information management, staff online learning and personal productivity tools.”

“We are encouraging local businesses to look at the cost and competitive benefits that can be gained from open source software. The development of the internet and in particular the growth of software as a service (or ‘SaaS’) means that small to medium businesses can benefit from great software, without investing in technical skills or infrastructure, for just a small monthly fee.”
