Man Bites Dog Wins Lockheed Martin UK Communications Brief

Lockheed Martin UK has appointed strategy and communications consultancy Man Bites Dog to handle its UK integrated communications brief, following a four-way competitive pitch process.

Lockheed Martin UK is now firmly established as an integral part of the UK’s industrial sector, employing more than 3000 people across 20 UK sites, from Aberdeen to Yeovil.

Man Bites Dog will be working with the Lockheed Martin communications team to raise the profile of the business as it embarks on its next stage of growth. The consultancy work will focus on promoting Lockheed Martin’s reputation as a technology leader, a good employer and a good corporate citizen. Particular focus will be given to highlighting its contributions to the UK national economy, its move into adjacent markets such as IT systems to support transport, oil & gas and government organisations and its partnerships with research institutions and academia.

John Neilson, Director of Communications EMEA at Lockheed Martin, comments: “We were impressed with the quality of Man Bites Dog’s strategic thinking, creative interpretation of the brief and the chemistry of the team. As our UK business continues to develop and grow organically and through acquisition, we are excited to be partnering with an award-winning agency which can add significant value to our work in the UK and provide ad-hoc support for projects in other markets.”

Claire Mason, Managing Director at Man Bites Dog, comments: "Lockheed Martin's commitment to innovation and advanced technologies is unparalleled, so this brief is tremendously exciting. We're proud to have been chosen to support the company's growth ambitions and take a lead in inspiring the UK STEM economy.”

Toby Brown, Head of Technology at Man Bites Dog, comments: “We’ve seen huge growth in our science, technology, engineering and manufacturing (STEM) team at Man Bites Dog, and this appointment really is the jewel in the crown. Working with Lockheed Martin UK cements our position as a leading communications partner to the world’s smartest organisations.”
