Mitchell & Cooper

Design & Branding, Marketing, Graphic Design

Ever since British founders Alfred Mitchell and Arthur Cooper started as silversmiths and engravers in 1879 in East London, Mitchell & Cooper has retained its focus for innovation and quality product design by continually striving to make their customers lives easier and more efficient. Now celebrating their 140th anniversary, they remain specialists in the design, manufacture and distribution of light catering equipment products.

In celebration of their 140th year, Mitchell & Cooper has revealed a new company logo which looks to represent their company philosophy through a combined focus on heritage and innovation with a modern flair.

The recognisable M&C stamp that now sits above the central 140 years plaque is reminiscent of British industry and manufacturing; offset with Mitchell & Cooper’s classic blue branding which echoes the importance that the company place on their heritage.

Speaking of their anniversary, Guy Cooper, Managing Director at Mitchell & Cooper, commented:

“140 years after we began trading, Mitchell & Cooper is still determined to push

forward, expanding our range and developing our systems to delight our valued

customers. This year, as we turn 140 years old, we will be celebrating the anniversary with a number of events, insights into the company and incentives for our customers. Content

created this year will look back on our heritage and forward to our future, which we hope will be as successful as the past 140 years have been for us.”

To continue their focus on developing the Mitchell & Cooper brand for 2019, the company has redeveloped their annual product catalogue to better serve their customers. With the use of QR codes throughout the catalogue, Mitchell and Cooper have brought extra online content to the catalogue, easily viewed with customers smart phones. By simply scanning the QR codes, customers have access to more images, videos, information, stock availability and pricing. On Apple iOS and the latest Android phones, there is no need to download any external apps. By opening the camera app and aiming at the QR code, customers are able to see extra product information on their smart phones without hassle.

Despite turning to modern day technology, the company has paid homage to their history throughout the catalogue. Key facts and figures from the past 140 years are featured in each chapter, ranging from when they designed and produced trench periscopes for the frontline in WW1 in 1914, through to when their Bonzer Bar Equipment was used on the first Concord flights operated by British Airways and Air France in 1976.

This year, Mitchell & Cooper has introduced a number of new products to their catalogue which have proudly been designed, manufactured and developed at their Uckfield-based factory to the highest of standards. These new products include their recent entry to the textile market with the Bonzer® Apron and Bonzer® Barman’s Roll, as well as The Crustastun, the world’s only humane crustacean stunning machine. Encompassing a variety of products to suit a wide range of needs, the revamped Mitchell & Cooper catalogue is sure to provide the perfect solution for caterers.
