The TrailerFarm acquired by Keywords Studios

The TrailerFarm, a creative agency and production house that delivers marketing and development services for video game developers and publishers of all sizes, has been acquired by The Keywords Studios Group, a global services platform for the games industry and beyond.

Founded in 2011 by former game developers Dan and Tony Porter in Brighton, The TrailerFarm’s global portfolio of clients includes Rovio, SEGA, ITV, Sony, Hi-Rez Studios, Namco Bandai, THQ Nordic and Bluehole, the publishers of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. The acquisition confirms Keywords’ intention to expand and diversify their creative games services offering, while allowing The TrailerFarm to invest and develop the business globally, access additional service lines provided by the Keywords family, and do more of everything, but even better. Founders Dan and Tony Porter are staying in their roles as heads of the studio and the team will be expanding as the business develops.

The acquisition means that The TrailerFarm joins a cluster of three Keywords Studios in the Brighton and Hove area, acclaimed game developers Studio Gobo and Electric Square, and Player Research, the play testing and user research specialists.

Ben Lavery, Commercial Director at The TrailerFarm, said: “We’re delighted to have joined the Keywords family which will enable us to take The TrailerFarm to the next level. We'll be retaining our culture and the way we conduct our business, but joining Keywords gives us a platform for future growth and means we can offer our clients an even better service. The acquisition is a real vote of confidence both in The TrailerFarm team and the creative sector in Sussex in general.”
