Radio // Future Sounds returns for 2016

Brighton’s totallyradio and Fugu PR today announce Radio // Future Sounds event, which returns for its second year and takes place 22 September 2016 at Patterns, Brighton Beach. Early bird tickets for £15 are available until 22 August 2016, thereafter ticket prices are £20 - the event is part of Brighton Digital Festival 2016.

Radio // Future Sounds is one of the UK’s only events dedicated to pushing the potential of the audio landscape and is aimed at everyone interested in new forms of sharing stories and music through radio and digital channels. Last year’s attendees included musicians, storytellers, radio enthusiasts, students and the digital community.

This year’s full day event features talks, interviews and debates as well as live music interludes. Session topics will range from radio made in Brighton, women and diversity in radio, as well as a session on the realities of turning your podcasting passion into a profession chaired by CMU’s Chris Cooke. The keynote talk will be delivered by musician, writer and broadcaster Marcus O’Dair.

Nats Spada, digital and radio producer at totallyradio.com and event curator said:

“We are excited to bring Radio // Future Sounds to the Brighton Digital Festival for a second year running. With three new Community FM licences being awarded in Brighton, we intend to celebrate radio being made right here in the city as well as highlight interesting and diverse radio internationally.”

Vicki Hughes, managing director at Fugu PR added: “Curated music sharing and story-telling resonates with everyone and new technologies are making this increasingly easy to deliver - turning many more of us into broadcasters. Our event explores the future of curated radio and offers an analysis of the current state of play from some of radio’s key game changers.”

Radio // Future Sounds will take place at Patterns on 22 September, 10am-6pm. To book a ticket (capacity is limited) and to find out more, go to: http://radiofuturesounds.org.
