The Challenge

What began as a project to reinvigorate the brand of a global outsourcing firm as their organisation pivoted away from a legacy contract, quickly transitioned into defining a new organisational architecture and branded house for an emerging portfolio of companies.

Previously united only by the ambitions of a shared investor, the OKIN portfolio spans facilities management, process outsourcing, IT services and a raft of innovative emerging technology startups. Boasting a 4,000-strong workforce, its global operations also traverse three continents. Yet while each business enjoyed its own successes, opportunities were being lost and hindered by the lack of an overarching sales process and clearly defined service offerings across the group. In fact, there was no ‘Group’ organisation to speak of.

The Results

Working with wider business stakeholders, and colleagues from across the organisations, UnitedUs carved out a new identity system and a supporting brand architecture that could both amplify the independent offerings of each business line, while building a strong parent-company narrative.

Grounding the OKIN companies with a new Group purpose and strapline - “Making work better” - UnitedUs created a flexible brand architecture that sets out guiding principles for each sub-brand. Ensuring the visual identity not only works as a collective but amplifies and leverages each business line’s strengths, assets and expertise.

For the newly named OKIN Process company, UnitedUs were keen to showcase that by its nature, outsourcing isn’t a linear process. Encapsulating an evolutionary journey of improvement, UnitedUs utilised a bold series of pathways that convey the aspiration of smoother, faster, and more efficient processes for clients. To consolidate this notion of client progression and movement they also created the OKOIN; a visual ident that moves without friction along the pathways, denoting an effortless partnership.

Since the OKIN Process brand has been released into the wild it’s not only picked up a prestigious award but inspired OKIN Group to invest more into their visual identities. Enlisting UnitedUs as their partner on their journey as they elevate their brand identities throughout their wider portfolio.
