The importance of being inclusive — Re: Engage is a new brand of digital marketing event

When I, Meg Fenn, the American half of Shake It Up Creative, met Sarah Harrison, co-founder of Re: Engage, at Thrive’s purpose led networking brunch for female entrepreneurs in Brighton, I felt sure a spark had ignited.

If you’ve come across Shake It Up Creative either in person or online, you’ll know that we like to do things a little differently. We make it our mission to keep up with what’s going on locally and globally, to colour outside the lines, and to, well… shake things up.

As a female-led business taking on the challenge of starting up and organically growing a design and marketing company with a small but diverse team, we like to champion those who inspire us. This means forming partnerships with people who take action to make a difference to our working world and beyond.

And Re: Engage’s founders, Sarah Harrison and Jana Lyon, are doing just this. Their digital marketing event taking place at the Brighton Centre on October 24, as part of Brighton Digital Festival, explores the theme inclusivity — an absolutely crucial value for any digital marketer to embody. Re: Engage conference offers marketers the opportunity to learn from experts on how to grow and develop their business sustainably by changing the deep culture of sameness, by being inclusive. Its mission is to generate ideas that will embed ‘difference’ as the driver of increasing profitability, helping the world connect regardless of race, colour, circumstances or background.

Fast forward six weeks from first meeting Sarah, and a partnership is born. Sarah Harrison and Jana Lyon, who founded Re: Engage, were looking for a marketing, PR and social media partner. They wanted to work in collaboration with a dynamic and forward-thinking company with the skills needed to deliver the work and, moreover, a company that advocates for connection through collaboration and inclusivity. That is definitely us!

We are pleased to officially announce we are the marketing partner for their new and exciting digital marketing event, Re: Engage 2019. And, we are thrilled to be involved in taking a brand new, unknown conference with a worthy message from zero to success! Partnering with Re: Engage fits in very well with our own company ethos and values – we share a similar vision for the future of digital marketing and how we can work in collaboration for the benefit of our clients and their success.
