Working with The Last Black Man in San Francisco

Since June this year (2019) we've been in discussions with Joe Talbot and A24 about a new movie that's been creating a buzz in Hollywood.

The movie is The Last Black Man in San Francisco, to which Joe is the director, backed by A24 and produced by Brad Pitt. The movie stars Jimmie Fails, a life-long friend of Joe whom debuts in the movie, alongside co-stars Mike Epps and Danny Glover to name a couple. The movie had won numerous awards at Sundance, as well as features from the likes of LA Times, NY Times, Washington Post, Hollywood Reporter and way way more.

The discussion however, was less about the movie and more about how we (Curate Labs) can help elevate this new founded status that Joe and Jimmie find themselves in. They needed representation, something true to their wackey nature and characters. Joe and Jimmies team needed a website for their company Longshot Features – the makers of the movie.

We teamed up with parisian illustrator and animator Mattis Dovier, featured by It's Nice That and worked with the likes of MTV amongst others, to create a series of bizarre, freaky and borderline outrageous characters to represent the depth and body of work Longshot hold under its belt.

We've been working on it for quite some time and happy to finally be able to share publicly.
