MAG Interactive appoints Senior Game Artist and Business Intelligence Engineer
Mobile gaming company MAG Interactive has appointed Senior Game Artist Güray Emen and Business Intelligence Engineer Greg Smee for its Brighton studio.
Emen will join the Wordzee team and work on the game’s assets, visual effects and animations, while Smee’s role will involve ensuring data can be used by game teams to improve the experience and gameplay.
Together they will help the Brighton studio build on its success.
Emen said:
I had already been following MAG’s games portfolio and its company culture. As the interviews and hiring process progressed I knew MAG was a studio where I would be happy and be able to keep improving my skills. The flat hierarchy means everyone has a voice. It delivers true ownership and empowers teams to take the initiative.
Smee adds:
Mobile games is a fascinating industry, not least for its potential for data-driven decision making – but the clincher for MAG was how they handled the interview process. I was made to feel totally welcome and valued, and they put up with all my annoying questions with a genuine friendliness that I saw as an insight into the culture and level of respect they gave everyone. My first few weeks have only reinforced those feelings!
I’m also excited by just how data-driven this industry is. Data nerd stuff aside, the industry seems to attract a wide range of personalities who nonetheless share a few common traits: creativity, passion and warmth, which makes it such a pleasure to work in.
Emen joins MAG Interactive from Gram Games in London and has worked on both hypercasual games as well as more IAP heavy casual titles. He is currently working remotely from his home in Turkey, but looking forward to joining the team in Brighton soon. Emen will bring his extensive games design experience and joining in with regular company game jams.
Smee joins MAG with a background as a Data Developer, including working for London media agency PHD. He looks forward to bringing his sense of humour, relentless enthusiasm and flair to the team.
Both Smee and Emen are excited to call Brighton home and about enjoying the creative buzz of the seaside city.
Tone Brennan, Studio Manager at MAG Interactive Brighton, said:
Güray and Greg are fantastic additions to the Brighton studio and to MAG. I’m really excited to be growing the Wordzee team and Güray’s experience will help us to continue to build upon the game’s initial success. The ability to understand and translate data into information that can help us improve our games is invaluable, and I’m looking forward to Greg’s insights helping our teams deliver great experiences to MAG fans everywhere.
