Who I am

With more than 14 years copywriting experience for digital marketing agencies and a global publisher, I'm Katy Lassetter of Chichester Copywriter. I have a no-nonsense, down-to-earth approach to content marketing and PR as well as a passion for wordsmithery.

Loving life as a freelance article writer, SEO copywriter and social media marketing manager, I help SMEs, education organisations and charities to distinguish their brands and attract the right customers/supporters with words that pack a punch.

As well as having had the opportunity to work with the likes of ASDA, Cambridge Assessment International Education, The National Trust and Green People, I've written and proofread for everyone from boutique B&Bs and arts education charities to tile brands and luxury Fairtrade jewellers.

I revel in writing creative product descriptions for the retail sector as much as I do when writing press releases for arts and culture events. I thrive on getting to know and understanding the nitty-gritty of every brand, product and service I write about and I'm experienced in technical writing for the IT services and manufacturing sectors as well as blogging for the health and beauty industry.

With nature as my muse, my ideal day would be to immerse in wildlife. You'll find me topping up my creative writing inspiration wandering Sussex woodlands, exploring Knepp rewilding project or kayaking in Chichester Harbour. I relax by listening to audiobooks and experiencing the local arts scene – especially theatre, cinema and music. I live and breathe good writing!

After voluntarily setting up Festival of Chichester's social media accounts and acting as their social media marketing coordinator (2013-14), I managed their website featuring 200+ arts events annually 2016-2020. As communications manager for Sussex Arts Academy for over four years, I'm contributing to the creation of a West Sussex Cultural Education Partnership (CEP). I've also supplied marketing services to support the launch of a veterans’ charity and the relaunch of a national theatre.
