We're excited to welcome The Maydays - one of the UK's top schools for improv - to run a 90 minute improv taster session for us. As promoted by agile experts like Paul Goddard, there are many parallels between improvisational theatre and agile development. Improv requires teamwork, experimentation, courage and psychological safety - all attributes needed within a high-performing team. Join us to learn about improv, try out some new techniques, and have some fun!

Here's some details from The Maydays on what to expect:

A 90-minute introduction to improvisation with The Maydays. This session requires no previous experience or skill. A common misconception that people have before an improv session is that they will have to be quick-witted, funny and confident. That is simply not true. Improv allows you to express yourself and how you are feeling in the moment, whatever that may be. The Maydays goal is to create the right environment to allow people to step outside their comfort zones and realise that is where the real learning and self-development happens. This is different for everybody and the smallest step forward for one person may represent a huge epiphany for another. This taster session will cater for all and our expert facilitators have decades of experience in when to challenge, support and encourage you so that you get the most out of the session as possible. We use a carefully selected series of exercises, games and experiential training techniques to unite a group and then let them work and play together. Forget the awkward traditional ice-breakers, improv warms you up and introduces ideas sequentially so that before you realise it the session is over and you are dazed and glowing.
