About the event

Cartography is the practice of map-making, part art and part science. The Ordnance Survey are renown for the design of their products, which ensure the map communicates its message clearly and provides a pleasing user experience.

Maplango is a Brighton-based company that capture, collate, analyse and present spatial data to deliver actionable information. We want to establish a geo-community in Brighton and this event will be the first in a series of mapping events.

This September, Maplango have arranged for the Ordnance Survey’s Cartographic Design and Development team to come to Brighton to run an evening workshop to promote and communicate the value of cartography.

You will learn map critique and also participate in a hands-on workshop to design a map using Tableau.

NOTE 1: THIS IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT EVENT AND THE TICKET COST IS SIMPLY TO COVER PIZZA AND LIQUID REFRESHMENTS.

NOTE 2: YOU WILL NEED TO BRING A LAPTOP TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EXCERCISE.
