Brighton Digital Festival Launch Party

Fri 11 Oct 2019
Multiple venues (see website)

About the event

Please join us on Friday 11th October for the launch of Brighton Digital Festival 2019 – we're doing things a little differently this year!

Our launch will take place over three venues from 6pm to late. Join us for one, two or all three – whatever you decide, we'll be very happy to see you there and you'll be able to experience three key parts of this year's programme.

Desire Lines: This exhibition, curated by BDF director Laurence Hill and Donna Close of the University of Brighton and in association with Lighthouse, takes place at the School of Media campus at Edward St and explores how artists innovate with data generated from travel and mobility: It is part of the ACE and ESIF-funded DRIVA arts DRIVA.

Alternate Realities: Lighthouse is the first stop on Sheffield Doc Fest's tour and features three internationally acclaimed works that connect to individuals, lives and stories that in an increasingly divided world we wouldn’t normally encounter.

Planningtorock performs a special live show of their Powerhouse album at ACCA – part of the much-loved #ACCADigital music programme for BDF. The performance will be followed by a genderqueer dance party with DJ (S/HE - Tomboys Don't Cry) and drinks!

Desire Lines exhibition opening at Edward St 6-7pm

Alternate Realities opening at Lighthouse 7- 8.15pm (BDF19 launch speech)
