About the event

By 2022, it’s predicted that the digital sector will require 1.2 million new workers in order to keep up with its growth - that’s 50% more than there are today (Gov.co.uk). In addition, 85% of the digital jobs that will exist in 2030 haven't even been invented yet! (Tech City UK). There is a huge and widening digital skills shortage in the UK and yet these statistics show that it’s one of the fastest-growing industries. So whilst some other industry sectors are struggling, digital looks like a good career path - and yet we believe that students are not choosing to develop their skills and capability in this area as the commercial and work opportunities are often not well understood by schools or parents.

Are you interested in finding out more about what a digital career could entail and all of the various careers available within the industry?

Come along to the Brighton Digital Festival's ‘What is a Digital Career?’ open office to learn all about the industry, be inspired by a variety of experienced Graphite team members from different departments and digital roles, as well as discuss your options after college or sixth form.

There will be talks from Graphite Digital members within the design, development, client and marketing teams. Including our Managing Director, Rob Verheul, who is also a BIMA100 winner.

Also attending will be representatives from digital education institutions to inform students how they can begin on their digital career path.

This event is aimed at college or sixth form students between the ages of 16-18. Under 18s are to be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 21. It is a good opportunity for parents and students alike to understand more about Digital careers.
