About the event

Design, Technology and Social Justice image

As digital technologies become a progressively more significant part of all our lives, how can we manage their design and development to make sure that they positively contribute to society?

Prof Ann Light talks about her research with the Not-Equal network and her new book: Designs to Reshape Humanity.

Ann Light is a Professor of Design at Sussex and Malmo universities. In this event, she talks to FuseBox founder Phil Jones about her research work with the Not-Equal network and the ideas in her upcoming book Designs to Reshape Humanity.

This event is for you if:

  • you are a Designer (especially UX / UI)
  • you work with technologies and are interested or concerned about the ways they impact on people and society
  • you research or teach about technology
  •  you’re interested in the way technology affects communities

The event is a joint University of Sussex and Wired Sussex event, as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2020 was made possible thanks to funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), which is part of UK Research and Innovation.
