About the event
Digital Futures West Sussex, a new programme launched to connect local businesses with talented jobseekers, is running its second roadshow in Midhurst.
The roadshows will showcase the best digital opportunities in the county, with local businesses attending to present their success stories and talk about their work, as well as advising on routes into digital jobs, the roles available and the benefits and salaries associated with digital careers. Attendees will be able to meet with a diverse range of business people from different sectors and find out about relevant courses to support career development.
There will be talks from business leaders to share their insights on the skills and experience needed to pursue digital careers.
This event is suitable for anyone with an interest in digital careers and how digital and tech developments are shaping the county. Please note: while there will be opportunities to talk about digital roles with local businesses, this is not a careers fair. There will be future focused discussions that will help people understand what roles or careers could look like for them.

Theme: The Language of Tech
The first three roadshows (Worthing, Midhurst, East Grinstead) will explore a range of topics relating to language as a central component in how we communicate the breadth of digital career opportunities.
Why is language so important in recruitment?
We know that job descriptions for tech and ICT roles don’t always attract and enable a diverse workforce
100s of unfilled vacancies demonstrate that opportunities are not always being understood by the right people
Employers are saying that they might not be ready to tap into all the tech talent and potential available
Are recruiters, employers and training providers speaking the same language?
We will be joined by local leaders and experts who are tackling these challenges head on.
We'll also be delving into topics around:
Diversity - How accessible are digital jobs and why?
Flexible working and mental health - Can digital roles help with a better work/life balance?
Attracting and retaining - How joined up is messaging from employers / networks / recruiters etc. around growth and need?
*** If you are a West Sussex employer who would like to get involved and showcase your business at one of our roadshows (there will be nine across the year), please contact digitalfuturesws@alwayspossible.co.uk and a member of the team will be in touch ***
