Data Privacy Governance for GDPR compliance

The Centre for Secure, Intelligent and Usable Systems (CSIUS), as part of the EU Horizon2020 funded project DEFeND (Data GovErnance For SupportiNg GDPR), is organising an information event about Data Privacy governance and GDPR Compliance.

Leading researchers and industrialists will discuss challenges of Continuous Data Privacy Governance and will present preliminary results from the DEFeND project.

DEFeND aims to deliver software tools and practical methods to empower organisations to assess their data privacy governance maturity and comply to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Using the latest R&D results, DEFeND departs from existing solutions to privacy governance and GDPR compliance, introducing not just a way of recording GDPR progress but providing practical ways of dealing with important areas of privacy such as privacy-by-design and consent management.

The project includes pilots from four domains: healthcare, banks, energy and local government.
