The Farm Digital Freelancers meet up

The Brighton Farm is a networking group for freelance web designers, developers and people with related mobile/digital skills.

We meet every Wednesday evening in a pub in central Brighton. It's a relaxed event and very casual, so don't worry if you've never been networking before, we're very friendly and chat is more important than business cards.

If you're looking for a web freelancer, our website has the skills and profiles of many in the group, and you are welcome to come along to any of our meetings for a chat.

Generally someone in the Farm can help you do what you want, and even if we can't, we're bound to know someone who can.

The beer's on us: Brighton self-employed meetup

“When I moved halfway across the world, the Crunch Meetups were a great way of connecting with the local freelance and small business community. They are such fun and relaxed time, and I felt included right off the bat. James is an excellent host, he goes above and beyond to accommodate everyone there.” Holly Johanna - Designer

"That was the funnest networking meeting I've ever attended. See you at the next one!!" - Jane H

"The atmosphere is really laid back. The people who go are inspiring - some are just starting their freelance career while others are very experienced. I highly recommend attending if you are looking to find out about how to become a successful freelancer." - Bernhard Meiler, Print and Web Designer.

Brighton Indie Hacker Dinner Meetup #2

Indie Hackers is a meetup where individual "indie hackers" come together to share their experiences, give and receive feedback, and rely on each other for support.

You're an indie hacker if you've set out to make money independently. That means you're generating revenue directly from your customers, not indirectly through an employer.

Other than that, there are no requirements!Indie hackers are often solo founders, software engineers, and bootstrapped, but it's totally okay if you have cofounders, can't code, and have raised money.

Magento Meet Up Brighton

Our first Magento meetup will be hosted at GENE Commerce's office on Middle Street, where provide beer, pizza and a some great talks from people in the Magento community will be provided.

If you would like to attend please follow the link to RSVP

Our Speakers for the event are as follows;

– Sophie Alway - GENE
Did you know 71% of all visits to ecommerce sites in the UK are from a mobile device? Sophie, a member of the team at GENE and also small business owner, will be discussing the importance of Mobile Optimisation and a initiative to gain global insights on how we can improve conversion on mobile.

– Michael Gunner - GENE
For every 1 second of reduced load time, a typical online retailer can see a 2% increase in conversions. But performance is as much about inclusivity and the open web as it is profits. Michael, a front-end developer at GENE will show you how performance budgets can help you not just build for performance, but maintain it.

Following the talks, we'll have an open discussion about Magento and also find out more about the topics you want to discuss, so for future events we can bring in more great speakers you all want to hear from.

For those who want to join us after, we will be heading to the pub for a few drinks.

This meetup is open to ALL; Agencies, Merchants, Freelancers, Students et al.

Look forward to seeing you on the 17th July!
