BIMA South | Brighton: The Future of Content

Join BIMA South in Brighton on Wednesday 3rd July for our Breakfast Briefing at Pragmatic Agency.

Holly Hall, MD of BIMA will welcome our guest speakers:

Gina Roughan, Director of Content Services for award winning customer experience digital agency Zone, a Cognizant Digital Business

Tom Hall, Founder (and Brother) at creative content agency Contented Brothers and

David Lockie, Founder and CEO of Pragmatic, a 50 person digital agency based in Brighton.

Our speakers will be giving short 10-15 minute presentations on ‘The Future of Content: tackling audience fragmentation' followed by questions from the audience and discussion hosted by Holly Hall, BIMA.

Gina will be looking at how audiences & channels in today’s digital world do not require more content/more noise; just better targeted, more nuanced versions of content, to meet specific audience needs as part of a premium customer experience’.

Gina leads the content services practice across Zone, working with B2C, B2B and non-profit clients to define effective content strategies, quality guidelines, optimisation and measurement frameworks and effective onshore and offshore production processes, all in the name of effective multi-channel CX.

Tom's focus will be challenging (and complimenting) some of Gina's views around content production, but will also be exploring the benefits of producing a high quantity of content and talking from his experience in working on international content production projects.

After an (unfinished) PhD on tudor dietary guides Tom was co-founder of t5m, an online television network that produced 100s of hours of celebrity and event focused branded content. At Contented Brothers his work with clients centres on content strategy, maintaining a focus on the creation of effective and purposeful content.

David will be focusing on future of content, and how brands can measure, drive and monetise their content strategy.

David is the founder and CEO of Pragmatic, a 50 person digital agency based in Brighton, offering strategy & consultancy, branding & design and development services to clients such as Sage, Bacardi, DPD, ITV and The Economist. avid is also the co-chair of BIMA Blockchain Council and also heads up Pragmatic's sister brand and blockchain focused agency Dcent.

She’s been working in content since way back in 2007 with some of the world’s biggest brands, including adidas, American Express, Microsoft and Tetra Pak. She lives in Brighton, loves the Downs, the sea, dystopian fiction and bold lipstick.

Readability Guidelines: a content style guide for inclusive design - Lizzie Bruce

Lizzie will talk about Sarah Richards' mission to create a universal style guide for content based on usability evidence gathered and discussed by global collaborators. Leading the project since Beta, Lizzie will provide an insight into running a successful collaborative content project remotely, and share the key content usability findings.

About Lizzie:

Lizzie is a consultant at Content Design London, where she's leading on the Readability Guidelines project for Sarah Richards, and helping with some exciting other things. Lizzie has worked in user-centred digital content design and strategy for 16 years in public, private and charity sector. She's passionate about inclusive design, user-friendly microcopy, tea and cats.

Conversational design workshop

Rachel McConnell and Dominic Warren will teach you how to approach page or UI design through a conversational lens.

With this simple technique, you'll be able to identify a logical structure and flow for content, identify interactions and potential blind spots, and create a much more human-centred online journey.
