Ian Cooper - The Clean Architecture

What is the clean architecture and how you would build one in .NET? Recently Bob Martin has categorized a set of architectures, including hexagonal architecture, onion architecture and screaming architecture as 'the clean architecture' - a layered architecture of concentric circles with a strong emphasis on separation of concerns. This architecture has become popular because of its amenability to modification as an evolutionary architecture and its support for practices such as TDD.

In this presentation, we will discuss the clean architecture and its benefits. More than that, in the bulk of the presentation, we will show you how to implement a clean architecture in .NET. From first steps to working code, we will show you the moves required to embrace this approach, and introduce you to some of the OSS libraries that can help you get there. All examples will be in .NET Core

Delivering Ultrafast (fiber) Broadband - Paul Brewer

Adur & Worthing Councils are working with West Sussex County Council to bring new ultrafast fibre networks to Worthing and Shoreham.

By bringing gigabit full fibre to town as part of a national government funded scheme, our local councils are ushering in a new era of digital connectivity to help our economy grow in the digital age.

In the first wave, council buildings will be connected with brand new fibre lines, and businesses will then be able to access "gigabit vouchers" to help get connected.

Paul Brewer, Director for Digital & Resources at Adur & Worthing will talk about the importance of modern digital infrastructure to the health of our local economies and outline the councils' ambitions to go further to deliver modern digital infrastructure for the benefit of all.

Laravel and Lager Meetup

You have multiple accounts on your system and they're all accessing their data. How do you limit all data access to the current user's account? Global scopes, policies and guards, additional where clauses, crossed fingers...?

Using code examples and some walk-throughs, let's see how we each tackle the problem currently, discuss the pros and cons of each approach, and see if we can come to any agreement on the best ones. How does a Laravel approach differ from other frameworks?

If you can bring your laptops then great.

See you there ( hopefully :0 )

Venue: I'll see if there is a better option than the Nelson, but let's use that as the err... Backstop!
